Mandarin is known to be the sweetest and most calming of all citrus essential oils, with a history dating back thousands of years to traditional Chinese medicine. Why? Mandarin essential oil is extremely gentle and has numerous healing properties.

For example, the mandarin essential oil can help to reduce acne, brighten the skin, relieve insomnia, reduce oily skin, reduce the appearance of scars and age spots, and reduce stress and wrinkles. And that isn't all.

It has additional healing properties, such as aiding in the treatment of gut issues such as leaky gut syndrome, acting as an antiseptic, stimulating the lymphatic system, and even relieving gas.

Mandarin Essential Oil Benefits that Improve Skin and even Helps in the Treatment Of Cancer.

1. Decreases Scars, Stretch Marks, and Acne

Acne, stretch marks, and scars may benefit from the use of mandarin oil. Mandarin does not usually irritate your skin because it is gentle. It has the ability to help prevent infection of irritated skin by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and fungi. If you want to know how to reduce the appearance of scars, apply the oil mixed with a carrier oil directly onto the scar and try a blend of one drop lavender, one drop mandarin, and one drop neroli with a little almond oil.

2. Aromatherapy reduces pain, anxiety, and nausea.

Mandarin essential oil is one of the most effective essential oils for anxiety and nausea. A study published in Complementary Therapies in Medicine looked at the use and efficacy of essential oil therapeutic interventions on pain, nausea, and anxiety in acute hospital settings across a large health system. Ten Allina Health hospitals in Minnesota and western Wisconsin conducted a study in which aromatherapy was delivered within their facilities.

The results were excellent, demonstrating a reduction in patient-reported pain, anxiety, and nausea. During the study period, there were 10,262 hospital admissions where nurses provided aromatherapy as part of their patient care. There were several oils used, and while each had its own strengths, the overall result was positive, indicating that mandarin essential oil helped the patients. So, if you want to relieve nausea with aromatherapy, try mandarin oil.

3. It alleviates pain.

Natural plant oils, such as mandarin essential oil, have been shown in studies to be sources of molecules that may be used to develop new analgesics and provide benefits when used to fight or reduce pain. Because of their possible role in the central nervous system, there were noticeable characteristics such as a pungent effect and tingling.

Mandarin essential oil was obtained and purified for this study. Purified mandarin was discovered to be similar to another type of known pain-blocking molecule. Terpenes, which are compounds found in mandarin essential oil, have the potential to be used to create analgesics in human pain therapy.

4. Bacterial protection for food

Mandarin essential oil has antimicrobial properties. Studies were carried out to assess the effects against Listeria innocua as well as the impact on the color and texture of green bean samples. A “bioactive coating formulation based on modified chitosan containing 0.05 percent nanoemulsion of mandarin essential oil was tested in combination with -irradiation, UV-C, and ozonated water treatments, and the results in terms of antimicrobial activity, color, and texture changes were evaluated during 14 days storage,” according to the study.

The microbial reduction was achieved as a result of the treatment. According to the findings published in the International Journal of Food Microbiology, it also helped prevent food firmness loss and color changes during storage, which may pave the way for a healthier alternative for food preservation.

5. Aids in the fight against cancer

The effects of mandarin peel and limonene essential oils on two human tumor cell lines were investigated. Both mandarin essential oil and limonene, a chemical found in the peels of citrus fruits and other plants, were tested and found to inhibit tumor growth in these cell lines.

This could lead to the development of anti-tumor agents and the treatment of cancer using complementary and alternative medicine.
